Tom Fiedler Apology

In the Military I appreciate a chain of command that works. McClatchy apparently has a good one as this email demontrates. I accept this personal apology from Tom Fiedler. Although I do think he should man up and resign.

I accept your criticism. I want to repeat my sincere apologies for my ill-chosen remarks. My intent was not to offend anyone, although I now realize that I did. My deepest apologies.

Mr. Tira,

I just wanted to write about comments that were attributed to Tom Fiedler. As an American of Cuban parentage I find them insulting and full of bigotry. These comments show not only his insensitivity and contempt for the Cuban-American community in South Florida but also ignorance. For one of the Radio stations he was surely commenting on, Radio Mambi WAQI 710 AM has some of the highest Arbitron Ratings in the South Florida Radio Market. I would like something done about this after all a free press should be free of ignorance, hate, and prejudice. I look forward to a response regarding this issue.

Very respectfully,

Ramon Manuel Ramos

In staff meetings Tuesday, Miami Herald reporters asked whether the paper was caving to critics. Editor Tom Fiedler dismissed that notion, saying the ''22 people who listen to Cuban radio'' were being stirred up by ''little chihuahuas nipping at our heels.'' He later apologized for his choice of words.

Foley House Scnadal

Here we go. Republicans are scrambling to recover Foley's House seat but I fear it's too late. Will Dems retake the House? I hope not but I know the Dems and the MSM are having a field day this week.

BUSY BUSY BUSY

Been busy at work and have neglected posting anything worth while. I know this is probably a lame excuse. But I will try posting more often.
